Nicole Jorgenson grew up on the Plains of Northwestern North Dakota in the Upper Missouri River Valley.  Her Norwegian family farming and ranching roots extend over 4 generations that led her abroad on a discovery of rich musical heritage.  

 

An NFAA (Natl. Federation for Advancement in the Arts) Presidential Gold Awardee Scholar in Musical Theater, Nicole first attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston but returned to classical music in ND to train under the direction of Dr. Kenneth and Devera Bowles at Minot State University where she obtained her BA in classical voice.  

 

In 2008 Nicole found her way to Heidelberg, Germany where she started her classical career as Soprano with with the Heidelberg Staatliche Theater & Orchester Chor. 

 

In 2010 Nicole teamed up with guitarist and co-writer Markus Ziegler.  Together they began exploring new crossroads. Between Nicole’s country & folk roots and intuitive vocals, and Markus’ instrumentals, the project was a success, bringing versatility and maturity to both Nicole’s written and vocal material .  

 

In 2011 Nicole's pursuit of a professional opera career took her to Graz, Austria for the AIMS (American Institute of Musical Studies) summer opera academy.  While attending the intensive 6 week Opera Academy Nicole was able to network and learn from such milestones as German Mezzo- Soprano Christa Ludwig, American Dramatic Soprano Linda Watson, as well as the iconic American Lyric Soprano Barbara Bonney.  

 

In 2012 Nicole began studying TCM, Traditional Chinese Medicine, under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Johannes Greten, President of the German Association for Traditional Chinese Medicine, to gain a more thorough insight of vocal pedagogy and it’s role in relationship to overall health.  Her long held interest in medicine, specifically in natural healing methods, encouraged her pursuit of further education specializing in the health and maintenace of vocal hygiene.    

 

Since 2013 Nicole has begun collaborating with concert pianist and Jazz singer Patti Shen.  This classically trained pair have come together to present new arrangements of Jazz standards, Musical Theater classics, as well as concert repertoire.  Patti and Nicole have been turning heads with their razor-like harmonies, vocal prowess, and feminine charm.
